So much has changed

I lost my husband, Kenny, to a blood cancer in 2017. My husband Kenny’s last year with us, he was in a lot of pain and it was difficult to see him go through that. At his last Light The Night walk he was asked if he wanted to use a wheel chair to do the walk, but he wanted to walk and that’s just what he did! He fought this terrible blood cancer to the very end. Life has changed so much since Kenny’s passing, his presence is what I miss most.

In the 20 years since Kenny’s diagnosis, so much has changed in the realm of blood cancers. Primarily, back in 1997, we had no support or resources available to us. We were happy to find Light The Night in 2012!

Light The Night brings hope that our team's fundraising efforts will bring new medications and treatments that will help blood cancer patients in future. Kenny was always reading about the most up to date treatments on blood cancers and would want us to continue our efforts.

People should support the blood cancer community through Light The Night because the money raised is helping a certain type of cancer(blood) and you know the majority of the money’s going towards research and not admin fees.

Do you have a story to tell?

As a supporter, in memory, or as a survivor… share with others why you are helping end blood cancers by participating in a Light the Night Walk
