I originally got involved with the LLSC through Team In Training in 2013 and over the years have participated in at least 35 half marathons. In 2015 there was a group of 4 of us who did 17 races half marathons or longer! My wife Jane and I also donate regularly to the LLSC and have matched donations, dollar for dollar, during the holiday campaign in 2017.
Light The Night means being with the community, supporting blood cancer patients and their families, gives us a reason to walk! Personally, it is a time to connect with old friends, doing something together we are all passionate about and funds are a simple way to contribute.
The cause resonates personally for me so I wanted to bring the LLSC forward. In addition, it is a fun group activity outside of work for employees to participate in and Hammerhead supports the initiative through their charity giving committee. Blood cancers are serious and life threatening cancers that affect all age groups from young to old.
People should support this population to raise funds for a cure!
As a supporter, in memory, or as a survivor… share with others why you are helping end blood cancers by participating in a Light the Night Walk
