I was diagnosed with AML and was told I only had weeks to live. I was at 72% Leukemia. I was in the hospital for 4 months at a time for a year. My daughter had just had a baby. I worried about telling my adult children what I had. I was told they could save me because I didn’t smoke or drink and wasn’t over weight and my brother was going to be my bone marrow donor.
I always thought positive & did whatever the Drs said. I also walked the ward and drank lots of water. I lost my hair twice & weighed 101 lbs. When I got out of the hospital my Husband got viral meningitis & I had to look after him. We changed the way we ate, no more take-out and we eat lots of fruit & vegetables. I had a bone transplant 5 years ago this August and now I don’t even get colds. I always remained positive. My heart goes out to those that have lost someone.
