I have been doing Light the Night for 9 years! It is another opportunity to support the LLSC and walk with my mother, Olga. I love how it brings the community together and that I feel the impact we are helping to achieve. I also have a personal connection to the mission of the organization and wanted to support research into blood cancers as it is not as 'attractive' or doesn't have as large of a public profile as some other cancers.
Light The Night provides a platform to garner awareness for blood cancers and we need to 'rally the troops'. Unfortunately leukemia is the most common form of childhood cancer so it is important to support research into pediatric blood cancers. Through Light The Night we are creating miracles and walking with angels!
I have also been participating in Team In Training for many years as a walker/runner and I am missing group training sessions with the team, especially the coffee after!
